60-90 Minute PresentationS

This talk will juxtapose traditional teaching practise and what is possible when approaching teaching with an executive functions lens. Moving from a broad perspective to specific and practical examples, teachers will be inspired to apply executive functions knowledge into their daily feedback and assessment practice. Attendees of these talks often refer to their experience as transformational.

Level I ESFA Training

This one-day workshop will prepare classroom teachers to experiment with executive skills based feedback and assessment (ESFA) during their everyday whole-class teaching.

After this one-day workshop, teachers will:

  • understand the impact of EFs on performance and classroom climate;
  • know the key research on EFs and classroom learning;
  • be able to implement a powerful whole-class EF intervention; and be eligible for Level II ESFA training.

This collegial and friendly in-class observation(s) provides support and feedback on the use of ESFA. At a mutually convenient time, a Level II or III teacher will attend your lesson, double check your use of ESFA, and collaborate with you to expand and improve your practice.

Training for your whole school includes a presentation for the whole student, teacher, and parent body, Level I ESFA training, a 1.5 hour follow up and troubleshooting session, plus open access to Level II training.
